| Your
Guide To storing and Chilling Wine:
The ideal
temperature to store wine is about 55 degrees F (or
13 degrees Celcius). Recurring temperature changes
can be detrimental to your wine. Wine cellars
and wine refridgerators can help you store your wine
to perfection.
Different
wines should be stored and served differently:
- Rich,
red and full bodied wines should be stored and served
at 59-68 degrees F.
- Light
red wines should be stored and served at 54-57 degrees
F.
- Dry white,
rose and Blush wines should be stored at 46-57 degrees
F
- Champagne
and sparkling wines should be stored at 43-47 degrees
F.
Red wines
should be served directly from storage and white wines
should be removed from storage to the wine refridgerator
before serving.
Placing
your wine in a closet or garage is not adequate storage
for wine. The biggest problem with these convenient
storage methods is the fluctuation in temperature.
Wine requires a constant temperature (even if that temperature
is not ideal) to keep chemical reactions from occurring.
Storing
wine at either a temperature that is too cool or too
hot can also cause reactions within the bottle.
Wine refridgerators
allow you to take your wine from storage and cool the
wine properly to the proper temperature so that every
sip tastes as good as it was intended.
If you are
a wine enthusiast and are proud of your collection (or
you just like your wine to taste great) you will want
to invest in a quality wine refridgerator so that your
wine always tastes it's best.
Small wine
refridgerators make the perfect gift.
